Fresh Talent – Lindsey Collie

For as long as I can remember, I have enjoyed creating images. I got my first camera in 1999 and began shooting local landscapes on film. From there I embarked on a great learning experience to get to where I am today, working on various projects with a D-SLR.
My passion remains landscapes, which often takes me out of towns and cities in the Central Belt and up to the Highlands, where I’ll spend all night setting up, waiting for the sun to rise. Of course, this subject relies heavily on the weather and light quality, so I have begun to diversify into subjects which allow me more control as I build up a portfolio of work. Within the past year I have been working seriously on portraits and investing time in learning about lighting and poses, which has given me the opportunity to meet and work with some fantastic people in the region.
More recently, in pockets of spare time over the winter months, I have been working on a project with long exposure images. In the coming months it is my intention to combine these techniques with a more traditional approach, in order to capture the movement and flow of people as they move around and interact with all of the incredible Victorian architecture Glasgow has to offer.
