Oh, Behave!

By Julie Shennan

You see some odd sights in Glasgow, from fashion victims to drunks, but this April professional exhibitionist are taking to the pavement to show us how it’s done.

They’ll be celebrating BEHAVIOUR, the Arches festival that brings live shows to the streets and stages of Glasgow.

Events will take place in the Arches itself as well as in unusual venues across the city, including a working landfill site and Govan community centre.

Jackie Wylie, Artistic Director of the Arches, said, “Once again, the festival extends out of the Arches, across the city.

“We’re particularly thrilled to announce Tramway as a key collaborator, allowing us to expand the ambitions of both the festival and our artists.”

Also on the bill are the Theatre of Scotland’s Auteurs Project, Platform 18 Award winners (Peter McMaster and Amanda Monfrooe) Arches’ Brick Award winner (#TORYCORE) and seasoned Drag queen, Taylor Mac.

Past festival favourites Gob Squad, Mammalian Diving Reflex, Taylor Mac and Peggy Shaw will all be returning with new shows.

Wylie said, “BEHAVIOUR 2013 provides a snapshot of the most exciting international artists shown alongside their Scottish counterparts.

“I hope you enjoy all this fantastic work and I look forward to seeing you around the Arches.”
